Cottage North – Unique stay on a private island

Located on an island in the middle of the Vinkeveense Plassen (20 km from Amsterdam and Utrecht, 12 km from Schiphol Airport), you will find Cottage North: a charming log cabin surrounded by water and nature.

The cabin is equipped with a toilet and shower, a compact kitchenette (two-burner hob and fridge), a fire pit, BBQ, and no less than 200 m² of outdoor space. Inside, you will find a seating area and two double sofa beds. Outside, a lovely terrace leads onto a grassy area with panoramic water views on all sides.

The cabin features a large side window with beautiful views over the water, which can be fully opened – perfect for enjoying the outdoors even on a rainy day.

Water & nature experience

Water for the shower and taps is sourced directly from the lake. Drinking water can be collected at Omtzigt marina – a filled jerrycan will be ready for you upon arrival. From the island, you can jump straight into the clear water for a refreshing swim. The Vinkeveense Plassen are known for their clean swimming water and are also perfect for fishing or simply relaxing in nature.

Includes motorboat

To reach the island and explore the surroundings, you will have access to a sturdy Askeladden motorboat with a 4 hp engine.

• Option to moor onshore for groceries or trips
• Perfect for exploring the lakes or visiting waterside restaurants

No boating experience? No problem – we will guide you, and within 30 minutes you’ll be ready to go.

Arrival & Parking

Parking is free in the village. We will meet at the shopping jetty, also located in the village.

From there, I will take you by boat to the cottage, where your own boat will already be waiting for you.
